  • Internet foundation

    The foundation for the Internet were first formed in the 1960s with the idea of packet-switching networks (transmitted data broken into small packets).
  • Early Internet

    The early packet-switching networks were first set up in Europe. Soon the development of a similar network began in America in 1968.
  • ARAPANET Network

    The ARAPANET used the network Control Protocol for its transmission protocol at the start of 1969 to 1982
  • First connection

    In 1973 the first international and intercontinental connection was established to the University College of London in England.
  • USENET

    The use of information and sharing in discussions in the hallmark of the net (USENET) was said to be first set up in 1979.
  • ARAPANET Network

    This was within the time from 1969 to 1982 that ARAPANET used its network Control Protocol for its transmission protocol.
  • World-Wide Web

    It was first in 1991 when the world -wide web was introduced and developed by a Mr. Tim Berners-Lee with the help of Robert Caillau.
  • First Web Browser

    It was in 1993 that researchers got interested in creating the first websites and browsers. The first proper web-browser was Mosaic.
  • Large ISPs

    Around 1995 was when the first large ISPs like AOL and Compuserve offered Internet access to the mass of the population.
