Due to mistakes and misinformation coupled with natural disasters led to widespread starvation and even cannibalism. Therefore the so-called %u201CGreat Leap Forward%u201D ended up being an economic and social disaster.

He initiated the revolution on May 16, 1996 and focused on motivating China%u2019s youth who then formed %u201CRed Guards%u201D across the country. They denounced party officials, rejected traditional Chinese customs and destroyed museums and historical sites in their quest to eliminate %u201C
