This violated the colonists’ natural right of liberty.

  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
The Tea Act was when parliament taxes the tea so the East India Company could make money. The new tax however didn't raise the price on tea at all; actually the tea was sold at a bargain price. American though thought the act was to buy support for taxes already in place. The colonists though the Tea Act was violating their natural right to liberty, even though the new tax didn't raise the price. The colonist said it was just another way of parliament saying they were in control.
