  • Fur Trade and "Catholic Missionary Work"

    In the early period of the 17th Century the Fur Trade enlarged. Also people contemplated "Catholic Missionary Work"
  • Quebec Founded

    Samuel Champlain constructed a building at what is now known as Quebec.
  • "Treaty of Utrecht"

    The French, British, and Aboriginal groups signed a treaty specifying which land each group retained.
  • 'Royal Instructions'

    'Royal Instructions' mandated "peaceful relations" with the various Aboriginal people in Canada.
  • Mixed Marriages Forbid

    King Louis XV made almost all mixed marriages forbidden. Members of the Metis group, however said this was a common practice and did not agree with the decision.
  • "War of Austrian Succession" Ended

    The "War of Austrian Succession" ended, destroying international French trade.
  • Conference in Quebec

    A conference was held with 80 members of the Iroquois tribe and other politicans. The conference decided that the Indian land did infact belong to them.
