The Shah (An Irananian name for their king) fled the country because he had lost the support of the army to Khomeini -
(A) The Islamic Revolution in Iran, Ayatollah Khomeini Takes Power
Ayatollah Khomeini was going against the government because the Shah was interested in land reforming, but some people believed that it was an assult on their religious lands and decided to rebel. They put Khomeini as their leader after fighting the Iranian governement who supported the Shah and he soon took the position as Jurisprudent which is the greatest level of religios and political power. -
(B) Hostages Are Taken in Iran
Because the U.S supported the Shah Khomeini opposed Americans in Iran and encourged his followers to do the same. In Novemver 1979 Iranian students attacked the American Embassy and took 70 American hostages. -
(D) The Soviet Union Invades Afghanistan
They wanted to imperialize into Asia so they saw it as an opportunity to take advantage, and they also wanted the communistic government to stay in place. -
(D) The Indian Government asks the soviet Union to Withdraw from Afghanistan
India and Afghanistan were allies, so the indian government asked the Soviet Union to witdraw from Afghanistan. -

The Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi admired the U.S and wanted a to civillize Iran as much as the U.S was with it's help after he left Iraq and was allowed into the U.S for cancer treatment. -
(E) The U.S supports the Taliban in Afghanistan in its fight against the Soviet Union
The U.S didn't want the Soviet Union from gettting to powerful in gaining the access to the Indian Ocean. -
(B) Iran-Iraq War Begins
Iraq innitiates the first attack against Iran claiming the Iran had new ideas and to take back it's part of the Shatt-Al Arab Waterway that resides in the middle of the two countries and leads to the Persian Gulf. The hostages that were taken were used as an easy disguse so that Iraq could easily invade Iran while the other countries were busy worrying about the hostages. -

Robert McFarlane alowes the U.S to sell weapons to Iran trying to get the release of the hostages from Lebanon. -
(B) The Iran-Contra Scandal Breaks Out in the U.S
Part of the 48 billion paid by Iran for the weaponry and release of the hostages was sent to the Nicaraguain government which was in breech of a law made in 1984 against such. -
(B) The Money from arms Sales to Iran is Used to Supply weapons to the Contra Rebels in Nicaragua (Iran Contra Scandal)
The money that Iran was paid to relaes the hostages for was sent to nicaragua to aid the contras. -
(C) Saddam Hussein is Supported by the United States
Saddam Hussein controls Iraq and the U.S, Great Britan and Geramny are more then willing to trade with Iraq for oil and weaponry. -
(C) Iraq Invades Kuwait
Under leadership of Saddam Hussein Iraq invades Kuwait because of religious differences and hatred from the turn-out of WWII. Saddam Heissein has the weaponry from the allies trades and begins to use the new technology and money to assist in the invasion. -
(C) The U.S Sends Troops to Iraq as Part of Desert Shield, and then Desert Storm
The invasion of Kuwait after Iraq attacked and tried to take control over it. The U.N stepped in and it is also known as the second Gulf War -

The u.s had spy planes fly over Iraq to protect the concerned citizens who were worried about the government surpressing their needs as citizens, from air raids. -

The Taliban Crashes two planes into the twin towers in New York and were fueled by the ideals that qAmerica was the enemy trying to destroy Muslum conunties. -

They were sent in retalliation to the Taliban attacks on 9/11. -

Before the invasion of Iraq the U.S claimed that there were weaons of mass destruction which was a threat to the contry and its allies. -
