    Did Bradford's wife object to his religious views and responded by jump to her death? Bradford's wife's objection to his religious views jumped to her death. In his biography it states "Vehement objections of his family and friends." His wife is his family and friend. She never wanted to take part in his reluntless dreams of free worship. The sight of the land startled her causing her to leap to her death.

    During Rowland's captivity did she grow closer to God? Rowland's captivity did bring her closer to God.Through her whole captivity experience she never lost her faith. When she wrote about her captivity she claimed to not want to tell of her horrible mishap. Instead she wanted to demonstrate God's purpose. So the captivity increased her faith. Increasing her faith means growing closer to God.
