  • The Vietnam War

    The Vietnam War was a war between communist North Vietnam and South Vietnam. This war was occurred during the Cold War. This was also known as "The Living Room War," because it was broadcast on televisions for the world to see.
  • The Cuban Missile Crisis

    The Cuban Missile Crisis was perhaps the closest the world has ever come to a nuclear war. America was keeping nuclear missilery in Turkey, which the USSR did not like, so they sent their own missiles to Cuba.
  • Martin Luther King Jr. speech

    Martin Luther King Kr. delivers his famed speech "I have a dream" during a march on Washington. He called for civil rights and racial equality.
  • J.F.K assassinated

    In 1963, as Kennedy was assassinated during a motorcade in Dealey Plaza in Dallas, TX. He was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald. Oswald was later assassinated on the news buy Jack Ruby. Lyndon B. Johnson was soon appointed president of the U.S.
  • The Civil Rights Act passed

    When the Civil Rights Acts, black Americans were one step closer to equality in America. The Act outlawed discrimination based on race, gender, etc.
  • The Gulf Tonkin Resolution

    The Gulf Tonkin Resolution authorized president Johnson to use any means necessary to defend South Vietnam and promote peace
  • The Voting Rights Act passed

    The Voting Rights Act increased black participation in elections and removed many obstacles they had to overcome in order to vote
  • Watergate Scandal

    Robbers were arrested in the office of the Democratic National Committee. The robbers were linked to the reelection campaign of Richard Nixon, who went to great lengths to cover up his crimes. Nixon resigned before he could be impeached
