    The Louisiana Purchase was a deal made between the United States and France. Thomas Jefferson paid $15 million for this major chunk of land which nearly doubled America's overall land.

    The War of 1812 was a battle between the United States and Great Britain. The War was mainly at sea and ended in 1815. The war helped boost America as one of the most powerful countries in the world.
  • The Missouri Compromise

    The Missouri Compromise added Missouri to the Union and also made slavery illegal in half of the land from the Louisiana purchase.

    This was a horrible event in history caused by Andrew Jackson, our 7th president. He forced Native Americans out of the south and across the Mississippi River. Thousands of people died during this treacherous walk.

    This was a battle between Texas and Mexico for independence. Texans were greatly outnumbered but managed to win the battle and eventually win independence.

    This was a war between the United States and Mexico that lasted two years. It ended with the United States coming out on top and gaining all of present day California, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah.

    The was a war between the north and south of America, the Union and the Confederate. It was the deadliest war in American history with over 600,000 deaths. It was mainly a war for slavery and the succession of the south from the north. It ended with the north winning the war.

    This was a very important document which freed slaves in the Union. It was helped free slaves and set the precedent in the Union and if they won the war, all slaves would be free.
