    Skylab was the first US space station. It was launched on May 14th, 1973 by a Saturn V Rocket.
    Skylab Space Station was assembled usingSaturn V and Apollo components.
    Skylab's purpose served as a laborarory for scientific experiments in space until February 1974.
    July 11, 1979, Skylab re-entered the Earth's atmoshpere and scattered debris over the Indian Ocean and the sparsely settled region of Western Australia. Most of Skylab burned up while re-entering Earth's atmosphere.

    Columbia launched on April 12, 1981 It was the 20th anniversary of the first human spaceflight . It returned on April 14, 1981, after orbiting the Earth 36 times,. Columbia landed at Edwards Air Force Base in California. Columbia then went on three more research missions to test technical characteristics and performance. The first operational mission was STS-5. It launched on November 11, 1982 with a four man crew.
