    John Cabot discovered Newfoundland

    John Cabot (original name: Giovanni Cabot) was born in Italy in 1450 but moved to england in 1495. At the request of King Henry VII of England, Cabot sailed to Canada in 1497 where he landed in Newfoundland.. cabot claimed the land for England and continued exploring the Canadian coastline.

  • Battle of the Plains of Abraham

    Battle of the Plains of Abraham, also known as the "The Battle of Quebec" was the final battle of the Seven Years War . The British climbed the cliffs near Quebec and Came to the city gate from west. The Battle took place outside of Qubec and lasted only 15 minutes. The French forces were overhelmed by the British. The British leader was General Wolfe and the French leader was General Montalm. 4500 Soldiers were fighting and 1300 died.
  • Quebev Act

    During the 1770´s many people in America rebelled against the government. Britain feared that rebellions could start in the French part of Canada. In order to regain good relations with French Canadians, Britain gave them special rights. These were determined in the Quebec Act. The French Canadians received territory rights, religous rights, French civil law and land rights.

    The Treaty of Versailles was signed after Germany lost World War One. The "Big Three" (Britain, France and America) were the most important cuntries during the negotiations and finally determined the consequences for Germany and its´ allies. Germany lost most of it´s land, had to reduce it´s Army, had to pay reparations payment and had to accept it´s Guilt that Germany caused the War. Germany had no other chioce and signed the Treaty.
  • Start of WW2

    After the WW1 Germany´s economic was damaged and besides it had to pay a lot of money. Hitler used the bad situation of Germany by promising the people he would solve their problems if he toke over. The Nazi party made itself popular by using propaganda and frightening people with different opinions. The war begun on 1st September 1939 when Germany invated Poland. There were two sides in the war. The Axis (Germany, Italy and Japanese and some others)and the Allies (France, Britain and Russia)
