    This was between Japan and the U.S. Japanese bombers dropped bombs on Pearl Harbor and destroyed almost 20 American ships and over 300 airplanes. More than 2,400 Americans died.
  • Bataan Death March

    This was between Japan, the U.S, and Filipino people. Approximately 75,000 Filipino and American troops on Bataan were forced to make a 65-mile march to prison camps. The marchers made the trek in intense heat and were subjected to harsh treatment by Japanese guards.

    This was between Japan and the Allies. The Japanese were seeking to control the Coral Sea with an invasion of Port Moresby in southeast New Guinea, but their plans were intercepted by Allied forces. This lasted 4 days.

    This is between U.S. and Japan. The United States defeated Japan by breaking Japan's code. The U.S. was able to know what Japan planned in the Pacific Ocean. It lasted 4 days.
  • Operation Torch

    It's Between the Western Allies and the Soviet Union,Germany, and Italy. It was an invasion of morcco and Algeria in North Africa. It was designed to secure bridges to create an opening for a second front against the Axis Powers. It lasted until september 1943.
  • Battle of the Atlantic

    Battle of the Atlantic
    It was between the Allies and the Axis Powers. It was naval battles of convoy ships with better sonar in the Atlantic Ocean. The U.S. ships were able to detect U-boats and sink them. The German submarine U-505 was captured on June 4, 1944.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    It was between Germany and American forces. Germany used a suprise blitzkreig to try and split the Allied armies. There were 200,000 German soldiers that attacked 80,000 Ally troops. The line "bent" but did not break. Allies pushed the German troops back. It lasted until January 25, 1945.

    This was between the Allied Forces and Germany, The Allied forces bombed Dresden even though it was not important. It didn't have any wartime production or a lot of industry. There were 30,000-40,000 civilians killed. The city was in ruins by February 15. The total number of people killed was around 135,000.
  • Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    Bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    It was between United States and Japan. An American B-29 bomber (Enola Gay) dropped the world's first atomic bomb called "Little Boy" on Hiroshima. It wiped out 90% of the city. It killed 80,000 people On August 8, a bomb named "Fat man" was dropped on Nagasaki. It killed about 40,000 people.
  • Formal Japanese Surrender on USS Missouri

    Formal Japanese Surrender on USS Missouri
    It was between Japan and nine Allied nations. Japan signed their surrender in front of representatives of 9 Allied nations, General MacArthur said that they didn't meet "in a spirit of mistrust, malice, or hatred but rather, it is for us, both victors and vanquished, to rise to that higher dignity which alone benefits the sacred purposes we are about to serve." Japanese delegates were not saluted.
