    Churchill was a soldier, politician, and the prime minister of Great Britain during the WWII time period. He held Britain as one of the major Allie Powers and lead them to victory during the war.

    Roosevelt was the 32nd president of the United States and was elected 4 terms in office until his death. He was the only president to ever serve so many terms and was a great figure in the 20th century. He helped lay down efforts to help with the Great Depression by using his New Deal and helped pull the country out of the Depression when jobs became available to help with the war efforts.

    Mussolini was the dictator of Fascisr Italy form 1922-1943. He attempted to conquer nations like Ethiopia and wanted to bring back the Roman Empire. He joined Germany in WWII as part of the 3 Axis Powers until overthrown by the Allies.

    Harry S. Truman
    Truman succeeded FDR after his death in 1945. He led the United States throught th elast few months of WWII and is best known for using two atomic bombs against Hapan in 1945. He implemented the Marshall Plan which helped Western Europe recover economically after the war.

    Hitler was born in Austria and was a German nationalist during the First World War. He believed Nazis were guilty for the war and wanted revenge on them. He led the National Socialist German Workers' Patry called the Nazi Part in the 1920's. He became the dictator of Germany in 1933 and led WWII. He tried taking control of Europe and eliminating all of the Jewish population by mass killings in concentration camps.

    Murphy was one of the most decorated American soldiers during the war and received every military award available. He was 19 years old when enrolled and held off an entire company of German soldiers for an hour in France.

    Neutrality acts were deisgned by Congress to keep the US away from the wars in Asia and Europe. Multiple acts were passed throughout the 30s as tensions got worse and war broke out in Europe. This lasted until the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, and the US declared war on Germany.

He beliebed that the government should have total power and rights such as freedom of speech, religion, and press are denied. He believed the nation and its power mattered more than the life of the individual.

The main two countries that used propaganda were the United States and Germany with the Nazi Party. The Germans used propaganda to make people think what Hitler was doing was good and make them support him and the country.

The idea was to attack countries in the Pacific to get oil, but knowing that it would drag America in the war, they decided to attack Pearl Harbor first. The Japanese wanted to get rid of all naval power in the Pacific so they could rule it. The resulted in both American and Canada declaring war on Japan and Germany.

  • Firebombing of Dresden

    Firebombing of Dresden
    The Dresden Firebombing was a military bombing by the British Air Force and the US Army which included 4 raids, 3600 planes, 1300 heavy bombers, 650,000 incendiaries, hundreds of 4,000 pounders, and 8,000 pound high explosive bombs. All together, 3,900 tons of explosive were dropped on the German state of Saxony, destroying the city center.
