The Battle of Belgium took place over eighteen days in part of the Battle of France. The reason this event is so important was because it initiated the entrance of Great Britain due to the invasion of Belgium. The battle resulted in a successful invasion by the Germans in Belgium. -

The Battle of Moscow is so important because the Soviets were able to successfully prevent the most serious to capture their capital, therefore, Moscow came up on top in this battle. -

Pearl harbor was a surprise attack by the Imperial Japenese Air Service upon the United States against the naval base at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu. This event resulted in a declaration of war for the United States and also entry into WW2. The attack on Pearl harbor was so important because it brought attention to the United States lack of readiness, while also unifying Americans prior to entry in WW2. -
Battle of Wake Island
This battle was conducted after Pearl Harbor and was fought for the Pacific Islands by the Japanese. The battle resulted in a victory for the Japenese, for the United States lost four ships, a submarine and thousands of lives. -

The Battle of Midway was a decisive naval battle in the Pacific Theater of World War II. This battle resulted in a victory for the United States and ultimately making Japan's losses hobbled by its naval might. This battle was important because it was considered the largest turning point for the Pacific theater within WW2. -
Battle of Kursk
The Battle of Kursk was the second war engagement between German and Soviet forces on the Eastern Front in the Soviet Union. The battle of Kursk is important because it was the biggest tank battle in WWII and the battle resulted in a severe crisis for Nazi Germany's war machine in Russia. -
Marshal Island Campaigns
The Gilbert and Marshall Islands Campaign was a series of battles fought in the Pacific Theater of World War II between the United States and Japan. The Marshal campaign resulted in a victory for the United States and is considered important because they were the first step of the drive across the central Pacific by the United States Pacific Fleet and Marine Corps. -
Attack on Truk Island
The Attack on Truk Island was a massive navy and air attack on Truk Lagoon conducted as a part of the American offensive drive against the imperial Japanese Navy. The Attack on Truk was so important because the attack was taken place at Japans biggest base outside of Japan making this battle imperative for Japan. The attack resulted in a Japanese defeat by the Americans, however, key Japanese warships avoided destruction. -
D-Day
Allied forces of Britain, United States, Canada, and France attacked German forces on the coast of Normandy, France. The Allies with forces contributed by 150,000 soldiers gained the victory that is important because it became the turning point of World War II. -
Battle of Leyte
Battle of Leyte Gulf was a decisive air and sea battle of World War II that crippled the Japanese Combined Fleet permitted U.S. invasion of the Philippines and was important because it reinforced the Allies' control of the Pacific. Leyte Gulf was decisive in that it destroyed much of the remaining Japanese surface fleet while ending Japan's ability to move resources from Southeast Asia to the home islands. -
Battle of Bulge
The Battle of Bulge was the last major German offensive on the Western Front in WWII. The battle of bulge was important because it was Hitler's plan to destabilize the allies and take control of the port of Antwerk. The battle resulted in a huge loss in experienced soldiers from Germany, in essence, the battle basically ended the war. -
Battle of Okinawa
The battle of Okinawa was the largest amphibious landing in the Pacific theater of World War II. Resulting in a victory for the allies and large casualties with over 100,000 Japanese casualties and 50,000 casualties for the Allies. The battle of Okinawa was so important because the capture of Okinawa was part of a three-point plan the Americans had for winning the war in the Far East. -
Battle of Berlin
The Battle of Berlin was the last major battle in Europe during World War II. The battle resulted in a surrender of the German Army and was important because it ended Adolf Hitlers's extensive ruleing.
