    The battle of France, also known as the fall of France, was the German invasion of France and the low countries during WWII. German forces defeated the allies and conquered France bring lan operations on the Western Fronts. Hitler invaded France because he knew that the French would be the only line of defense because of the Treaty of London that Germany had with Britain, so without Britain's support Hitler knew that the invading France would be an easy victory for Germany.

    The Dunkirk evacuation (Miracle of Dunkirk) is famous for the hundreds of thousands of Allies troops that were rescued from German advance (338,226 troops were saved). These troops saved were desperately needed back at home shores to help defend against a Nazi invasion.

    The Royal Air Force defended the United Kingdom against a massive attack by the Nazi Germany Air Force. Germans overwhelmed France, leaving Britain to face the invasion by sea. As the battle progressed factories that were involved in aircraft production were targeted for bombings. The reasoning over this battle was for the Luftwaffe to gain air superiority over the Royal Air force.

    The battle of Midway was a decisive naval battle in the Pacific Theater of the World War. This battle is considered to be one of the turning points in the war because the Japanese advance was halted and suffered dramatic setbacks. The failed attack on the island Midway costed Japan most of its navy and aircraft carriers. The United States were successful in the defence of the Japanese navy.
  • Raid of Dieppe

    The Raid of Dieppe (Operation Jubilee) was an Allies assault on the Germans that were stationed in the port Dieppe, France. The purpose behind this attack make a successful raid on German-occupied Europe over water than defend Dieppe for a brief period of time. The raid was successful nor a failure, some tanks made it into the town but failed to destroy the enemy's concrete barriers and about 68% of Canadians were killed, wounded, or captured.

    Battle of Stalingrad

    The German attack to capture Stalingrad began in August 1942. The Germans plan was to bomb the city to rumble. The fighting consisted of house-to-house fighting. Mid-November the German forces pushed the Soviet defenders back into narrow zones along the west bank of Volga River.

    June 6th 1944 allied forces attacked a Nazi occupied France beaches to strom inter-France. The beaches that were attacked were Utah Beach, Omaha Beach, Gold Beach, Juno Beach, Sword Beach. With a huge force of 150,000 soldier the allies gained victory and was the major turning point for World War II.

    The atomic bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima was named Little Boy and the bomb dropped on Nagasaki was named Fat Boy. The first bomb was dropped in response of Pearl Harbour; a surprise attack on the US by Japan. The second bomb was dropped on Nagasaki an important Japan military base, coming from the president of the States (Franklin Delano Roosevelt) fatboy was dropped in order "to save as much American lives as possible", this bombing lead to the surrender of Japan and ended the World War

    The official date of the end of World War II was September 2nd 1945 when Japan signed the instruments of surrender on board the USS Missouri. However Europe celebrates the end of World War II on May 8th 1945 when the Allies accepted Germany's surrender and about a week after that Hitler committed suicide.
