    This battle was fought in Poland and the Second Polish Republic and Germany won, they were axis powers. At the time, the Germans and Soviets had just became allies. As a result, Britain and France declared war on German. This battle was important because the invasion and eventual rule of Poland were what initiated World War II.

    This battle was fought in the United Kingdom and resulted in a British victory against their axis Germany. The Battle started when Germany Bombed Great Britain in hopes to destroy its air force. The British win proved that battles could be won solely by air forces.
  • Operation ‘Barbarossa’

    Operation ‘Barbarossa’
    This battle was fought in Central, Northeast, and Eastern Europe. It was Germany against the Soviet Union and they were not allies, Germany wanted to conquer the Soviet Union and populate it with its own people. Germany did not succeed in conquering it due to the lack of proper strategic planning. This became one of the largest invasions in military operations history when the Nazis were forced to fight the war from two different fronts.

    This battle took place Primarily at Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii. The combatants of this battle were the United States and the Empire of Japan. This bombing was inflicted on by Japan when they flew over Pearl Harbor early on a Sunday morning to bomb the United States unexpectedly. It was a significant event because the Japanese killed 2403 people and hindered the use of the United States naval base that was closest to them.

    Battle of the Coral Sea
    This naval battle was fought in the Coral Sea, New Guinea, and Soloman Islands. It was fought between Japan and its rivals Australia and the United States. The Japanese won the battle because when the battle ended they were left without enough airplanes to fight. This was a significant battle because the United States had stopped Japan from advancing for one of the first times. Since the US stopped Japan they weren't able to invade Australia.

    This was a naval battle fought in Midway Atoll between the United States and the Japanese. Even though just six months prior to this battle the Japanese had destroyed most of United States ships in the Pearl Harbor naval base America still reigned victoriously. This win put a strain on the Japanese Empire's naval base halting their naval victories.

    The Battle of Stalingrad was fought on Russian territory against Germany and the axis powers, Croatia, Romania, Hungary, and Italy. This battle resulted in nearly one million deaths. It was one of the turning points in Germany's advance into Europe and Russia. This was the first big loss that Germany had throughout World War II.

    This battle was fought on and around Guadalcanal and the Solomon Islands. The combatants of this battle were the United States and its allies, the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand against Japan. The United States walked away with an allied victory because they instigated a surprise attack and took control of an airbase. The battle was to gain control of the sea lines of communication between the United States and Australia.

    This battle was fought in Kursk, Russia by the Russians against Germany. The Soviets won because the Germans weren't capable of getting past Russian barriers. This was the biggest tank battle of the whole war and nearing the end of the battle the Germans had already lost a lot of its military personnel. In the end, Germany lost control and Russia took them down.

    D-day otherwise known as the Normandy landings was fought in Normandy, France. It was between the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Poland, Germany, the Netherlands, Australia, Greece, New Zealand, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, and Norway. The fighting units from all the twelve above nations invaded France which was occupied by the Nazis at the time. They were very deliberate in their planning to invade Normandy by blocking off certain roads and bridges which helped the allied powers win.

    This battle was fought by the United States, the Empire of Japan, Mexico, Australia, Hukbalahap, the Commonwealth of the Philippines and the Second Philippine Republic in the Philippine sea. The goal of this battle was for the Japanese the prevent the United States from being able to use the Philippines as an advance base of operations. The battle resulted in an almost completely destroyed Japanese Navy.
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    This battle was fought in Iwo Jima, Ogasawara, and Tokyo, Japan. It was the United States against Japan who was an axis power. Iwo Jima was a hub for all Japanese naval units therefore, it was important for the United States to capture it. The United States left only approximately 200 Japanese forces alive in one of the bloodiest fights of the war. At the end of the battle, the American flag was raised at the top of Mt. Suribachi to claim their territory.

    On Okinawa Island, the United States and its allies, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, and New Zealand faced off against Japan in the largest land, sea, and air battle ever. The allies ended up winning the long battle. Three months after it started, the allies won the fight and occupied Okinawa to serve as a base for planning further invasions.

    The Soviet Union and Poland who were allied powers fought Germany in Berlin, Germany. The Soviets ended up taking control of Germany when the battle was over. This battle ended with the surrender of the German army to the allied forces and all that was left of Berlin was rubble. After the surrender, Adolf Hitler commits suicide.
