    Hitler promised to not take any land and have Sudetenland be his last expansion.The Nazi's break agreement and invade Czech and turn and take Poland. Stalin and Hitler come together and divide Poland. Germany invades Poland taking back their land. Hitler wanting to have all Germans in Germany and needed to take Poland for that to happen. And having living space for Germans. The impact of taking Poland causes the start of WWII. Britain and France are ready to attack Germany. (Notes)

    Germany invades France
    Britain and France declare War on Germany after 2 days of taking Poland. The phony war happened the first few months until Germany fought. Germany surrounded France from behind by going through the Ardennes forest. Hitler invaded Belgium taking control of France. The battle caused the U.S to go into war and help allies with war materials to try and defect Germany. (Notes)

    Germany Bombs London (Battle of Britain)
    After Germany took over France they begin, Operation Sea lion, Germanys plan to invaded Britain over the North sea. Germany begins the battle of Britain bombing them for 11 months straight until it became unsuccessful. The battle helped Britain not surrender and caused the U.S to go into war helping allies with war materials to try and defect Germany. (Notes)

    Lend Lease
    Lend Lease Act was defense from the United States giving other country against the Axis assisted ships, weapons, food, or equipment they need. Americas program to defeat Germany, Japan and Italy provided military aid to other countries and would be paid back later. The act helped other countries defeat Germany and win the War. (Notes)

    Operation Barbarossa was code name for Germany's invasion on the Soviet Union. Unable to conquer Britain Germany tried to conquer the Soviet Union. Hitler turned on Stalin before Stalin could. Soviet Union needing help turned to allies to defeat Germany. The failure of German troops to defeat Soviet forces in the campaign signaled a crucial turning point in the war.     Japan Bombed Pearl Harbor
    Japan starts bombing Pearl Harbor by surprise military strikes on the morning of Dec. 7, 1941. The attack cause 2,403 deaths and 21 ships suck and damaged. The battle of Pearl Harbor led to the U.S to declare and enter the War. Germany and Italy will declare war on the U.S (Notes)

    On December 11, 1941, the United States Congress declared war upon Germany after the attack on Pearl Harbor. Germany and Italy declare war on the U.S the same day. The impact of declaring war caused the U.S and everyone else to turn on Germany and push them back into their territory. (Notes)
  • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    U.S. surrender on the main Philippine island of Luzon to the Japanese. The approximately 75,000 Filipino and American troops on Bataan were forced to make an arduous 65-mile march to prison camps. Intense heat and were subjected to harsh treatment by Japanese guards was the Bataan Death March. These Americans had horrible living spaces and lots died from disease. Important for giving us the first direct exposure to the Japanese Code of Bushido. (History)

    U.S Victory over Japan (Battle of Midway)
    The Battle of Midway was a decisive naval battle in the Pacific Theater of World War II that took place for 3 days in June 1942. A turning point in the war, effectively destroyed Japan's naval strength when the Americans destroyed four of its aircraft carriers. Important by the battle destroying the Japanese and starting on their way to end the war. (History)

    Germany invades Soviet Union (Battle of Stalingrad)
    The largest confrontation of World War II, in which Germany and its allies fought the Soviet Union for control of the city of Stalingrad in Southern Russia. Germany wanted to turn on Russia before they could, but didn't know they side with the allies already. This helped stop the German from advance into the Soviet Union. Marking the turning of the tide of war in favor of the Allies. (History)
  • Warsaw Ghetto uprising

    Warsaw Ghetto uprising
    The largest of all the Jewish ghettos in German-occupied Europe during World War II. A violent revolt broke out to turn on the Germans and fight back. The Germans blew up Warsaw’s Great Synagogue to destroy the Jews, but 50,000 had survived and sent to extermination or labor camps. The Warsaw uprising inspired other revolts in extermination camps and ghettos throughout German-occupied Eastern Europe. (History)
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    The Normandy landings were the landing operations on Tuesday, 6 June 1944 of the Allied invasion of Normandy (northern France) in Operation Overlord during World War II. Codenamed Operation Neptune and often referred to as D-Day, it was the largest seaborne invasion in history. Allies liberated the Western Europe from Nazi Germany’s control. The beginning of the end of war in Europe taking control in Spring from Germany defecting them. (History)
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    The Battle of the Bulge was the last major German offensive campaign on the Western Front during World War II. Hitler attempted to split the Allied armies in northwest Europe by means of a surprise blitzkrieg thrust through the Ardennes to Antwerp. The Allied front took on the appearance of a large protrusion or bulge. the frozen forests caused a draw with the Germany in the west with crucial German shortage of fuel and the gallantry of American troops fighting in the freezing cold.   • Liberation of concentration camps

    Liberation of concentration camps
    As the Allies advanced across Europe at the end of the Second World War, they came across concentration camps filled with sick and starving prisoners. The first major camp to be liberated was Majdanek near Lublin, Poland in July 1944. Overraning camps allies had came across and several other killing centers. The liberation of camps was the end of killings and being able to be free again. (History)
  • Battle of Iwo Jima

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    he Battle of Iwo Jima was a major battle in which the United States Marine Corps landed on and eventually captured the island of Iwo Jima from the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II. American forces spent weeks on end trudging through the island’s jungles, finding and killing or capturing Japanese “holdouts” who refused to surrender and opted to continue fighting. The importance was to stop Japan from taking over the world and ending their try to having an empire. (History)
  • US Bombed Japan

    US Bombed Japan
    During the final stage of World War II, American B-29 bomber dropped the world’s first deployed atomic bombs, two nuclear weapons, over the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. The United States dropped the bombs after obtaining the consent of the United Kingdom. These bombings helped push back Japan from war to fix the mess from trying to make an empire. This left Germany and Italy on their own and helping end the war. (History)
