At the end of the day, 9,000 Allied troops were killed or injured, but over 100,000 troops were marching towards Hitler. They were charged with violating international treaties, genocide, and violating war rules laid down after World War I. There were 216 court sessions. On 10/1/1946, 12 defendents were sentenced to hanging and 10 recieved senetnces ranging from 10 years to life in prison. (One defendent commited suicide during the trail and another was deemed mentally unfit.)
