  • President Warren G. Harrding

    Harding became the 29th Predsident. Harding did not believe that goverment should be involved with business.
  • Roaring Twenties

    The 1920's were a decade of inventions and propserity for Americans. There were social changes in American such as The Flappers and Jazz music. Americans could purchase on credit with installment plans such as, cars, wash machines,, etc. Women were leaving the tradition role of housewives.

  • 18th Amendment "Prohibition"

    The 18th Amendment was Prohibition which stopped the selling or manufacturing of alcohol. Reiigious people were happy but the led to bootleggers or outlaws or gangs.
  • 19th Amendment Women's Rigth to Vote

    Women had the right to vote. Susan B. Anthony led the Sulfrage Movement but she died before she got to vote.
  • President Harding Dies

    Harding dies unexpectedly while traveling. It was rumored that his wife poisoned because of the TeaPot Dome Scandal. His cabinet was corruprt and the Americans did not trust goverment.
  • President Calvin Coolidge

    President Calvin Coolidge was in office from 1923 to March 4, 1929. He was known as "Silent Cal" and he believed that government and business should not mix.
  • President Herbert Hoover 1929-1933

    President Hoover did not believe that government should govern the business market. He ignored the signs of the upcoming financial diaster.
  • Stock Market Crash

    This is known as "Black Tuesday" when the stock market crashed. The started The Great Depression for America but also impacted the world's economy as well.
  • The Great Depression

    The Great Depression lasted from the 1929 to 1939 roughly a decade. Thousands of Americans did not have jobs or food. People lived in Shantys or called Hoovervilles. President Hoover made remarked that they are not hungry.
  • Dust Bowl

    The Dust Bowl was marked by a severe drought and high temperatures in the midwest. KS, OK, TX, NW and CO were affected. Farmers has over farmed the land. The black blizzard could range from 1 mile high to 200 miles wide--it could make the day appear as night. An environmental disaster
  • The New Deal

    President FDR's New Deal included programs such as, WWW, CCC, NRA, AAA, WPA and for the first time goverment assistance to families with low income. The New Deal started Americans back to work and for the first time school, libraries, and hosptials were built by the goverment. National Parks were estabilished.
  • President Franklin D. Roosevelt

    President Franklin D. Roosevelt was in office from 1933 to 1945. He died in office. He was a democrate and the American people loved him. President FDR introduced the New Deal. This New Deal created programs to help the Americans.
  • 21st Amendment Ratified

    This amendment changed the 19th Amendment so Americans could buy and sale alcohol.
  • Jessie Owens

    Jesse Owen's an Africian America who won 4 gold medals.
  • Pearl Harbor

    The Japanese attached Pearl Harbor In Hawaii wiping out most of the American military power. FDR declared war on Japan and her allies which were Germany and Italy. WWII began Setpember 1, 1939 to September 2, 1945.
  • FDR Died

    FDR died at age 63 at his summer home in Georgia called the "little white". Most Americans did not know he was paralyzed. ra His wife Eleanor was a great assest to him. She often delivered his fire-side chats on the radio.
