    From September 19, 1931 to February 27, 1932, Imperial Japan invaded the area of China known as Manchuria. The reason they invaded was because they needed a better supply of natural resources since they are an island.

    Hitler's rise to power occured all throughout the 1930s. The main cause of him becoming chancellor was resentment over losing the war and the Treaty of Versailles.

    Kristallnacht, also known as The Night of Broken Glass, was a series of riots against Jews. Synagogues, Jewish schools, homes, and businesses were burnt to the ground or vandalized in what was the first act of the Holocaust.

    This pact was a secret agreement between the Soviet Union and Germany that they would not attack each other. It was later broken by Germany when they invaded the Soviet Union.

    Major battle between the USSR and Germany for the city of Stalingrad. The USSR won and it was a major turning point in the war

    Invasion of France by England and the US. Created a new front in the west and started the liberation of France and the rest of Europe.

    Victory in Europe day. This is the day when the allies defeated Germany and ended the war in Europe.

    To avoid a very costly end for the Americans, President Truman decided to use atomic bombs to end the war. They destroyed Nagasaki and Hiroshima using the bombs.
