This event was fought between German air forces and the British Royal Air Force. This event lasted until October 31, 1940 when Britain successfully defended their homeland against Germany. -

Pearl Harbor was a surprise military attack by the Japanese upon the United States in Honolulu, Hawaii. This attack was the reason for the United States' formal entry into World War II. -

This battle was fought between Russia and Germany. It ended when Russia successfully defended the city of Stalingrad from German invasion. -
Normandy Invasion
This event was launched by the western Allies of WWII. Today this event is known as D-Day. -
V-E Day
V-E Day otherwise known as Victory in Europe Day is celebrated to mark the formal acceptance by the Allies of WWII and Germany's surrender. -
Atomic Bombing Of Japan
This event was an attack by the United States upon the Japanese. The U.S. warned Japan that they had two atomic bombs and would drop them if they did not surrender(Japan did not surrender until the second bomb dropping) The first bomb was dropped at Hiroshima and then when the Japanese did not surrender the U.S. dropped another bomb on Nagasaki. That is when Japan finally surrendered. -
V-J Day
V-J Day otherwise known as Victory Over Japan Day is celebrated because of Japanese surrender in WWII. After a long fight and 2 atomic bombs being dropped on Japan, they finally surrendered and that day is now known as V-J Day.
