    This event was an attack by the United States upon the Japanese. The U.S. warned Japan that they had two atomic bombs and would drop them if they did not surrender(Japan did not surrender until the second bomb dropping) The first bomb was dropped at Hiroshima and then when the Japanese did not surrender the U.S. dropped another bomb on Nagasaki. That is when Japan finally surrendered.

    V-J Day otherwise known as Victory Over Japan Day is celebrated because of Japanese surrender in WWII. After a long fight and 2 atomic bombs being dropped on Japan, they finally surrendered and that day is now known as V-J Day.
