    Germans have now taken Denmark, Norway, Belgium, and Netherlands. They have also invaded France and bombed Paris. The Germans now have control of Northern France. Germans give ruling power of southern France to the Vichy Government.

    Soviets free the Auchwitz concentration camp on this day. This is right after they had captured Warsaw, Poland.

    Stalin, Roosevelt, and Churchill meet at the Yalta conference. They discussed how to handle the post war devastation of Europe.
