The American colonies declared independence from Great Britain on July 4th, 1776. The split happened since The USA thought that the British were not treating them fairly since they included many tax laws that impacted America and they had no right to discuss or vote for the laws.

U.S Civil War.
The American Civil War started in 1861 and ended in 1865. It was fought between the United States and the Confederate States of America. It started with a disagreement between the institution of slavery. The southside of America wanted to form a new country to protect slavery when the northside did not agree to that.
