    On November 29,1864 a group of 700 military men from colardo massacred peaceful Southern Cheyenne and Arapahoe Indians. Among the people killed in this act of aristocracy around two-third were either woman or children. This event led to unrest in America and was significant in leading to fights later on.

In 1869, the transcontinental railway network was built connecting the railroads from central and union pacific. This War was favorable for America as it got control over numerous territories and the dominance of Spanish empire can to a halt and it weakened following this war.

    The age of automobiles occurred after the World War 1 in 1920's and it led to a huge boost in the American economy at that time. It is the result of the advancements in technology in that period that now the world has such a fabulous automobile industry.

    The League of Nations was formed after the World War 1 with the only one objective and that was to maintain peace and make sure that a war like that would never occur again. The League of Nations did a lot of humanitarian work and even set up World Health Organization but it was unable to fulfill its main objective, which was to maintain peace in the world as World War 2 occurred, 29 years after its formation.

    The attack on Pearl Harbor was a surprise military strike conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, on the morning of December 7, 1941. A lot of American lives were lost in this attack and this proved to be the reason behind the entry of United States in the World War 2.

    Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    The atomic bombings of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan were conducted by the United States during the final stages of World War II in August 1945. The two bombings were the first and remain the only use of nuclear weapons in warfare. The damage done by these bombings was so severe that it played a significant role in the surrender of Japan in the World War 2, which happened 15 days after the incident.

    The Korean War began as a civil war between North and South Korea, but the conflict soon became international when, under U.S. leadership, the United Nations joined to support South Korea and the People’s Republic of China (PRC) entered to aid North Korea. The war left Korea divided and brought the Cold War to Asia. This war also led to almost 53000 American’s losing their lives.

    Nonviolence is the personal practice of being harmless oneself and the people around under every condition. It comes from the belief that hurting animals, people or the environment is unnecessary to achieve an outcome and refers to a general philosophy of abstaining from violence based on moral, religious or spiritual principles.

    Martin Luther King, Jr. was one of the twentieth century’s best-known advocates for nonviolent social change. He started a Civil rights movement in 1960's in order to fight for the rights of the black people in America who were subject to inferior treatment and seen with hatred by American’s. So powerful was the movement he inspired, that Congress enacted the Civil Rights Act in 1964.

    The American Federation of labor was formed in 1986 with the purpose of ensuring higher wages, better working conditions and securing shorter work weeks for its members. The American federation of labor assisted in organizing numerous unions and also led to coordination among them and made the voice of employee's heard.
