    Missouri Compromise
    The Missouri Compromise was an important decision in the eyes of Congress because the U.S. was already balanced by 11 free and 11 slave states, and the addition of Missouri, a slave state would unbalance the U.S. In addition, Congress had to make the decision on whether or not Missouri can be a slave state or not, but that would mean that the state does not have the right to make its own decision. Therefore, the Missouri compromise represents the diplomacy and problem solving of the U.S.

    This act represented the power for individual states to nullify laws within their boarders that they felt were unconstiutional; however, Jackson dissallowed this act because if passed, it would have caused many conflicts between states and the disunion of states would have occurred even earlier. Therefore, Jackson ensured that the nation would remain together by dissallowing this act.

    The Compromise of 1850 established new boundaries, regulations, and important concepts among Americans. It admitted California to the Union as the 16th free state, and in exchange the South guaranteed that no federal restrictions on slavery could be placed on Utah or New Mexico. In addition, a Fugitive Slave Law was passed, making Norhtern states to return runaway slaves. Therefore, this compromise was extremely important in the balancing of slavery and freedom in the U.S.

    Garrison was a radical abolitionist whose acts eventually led to the abolishment of slavery, for he burned a copy of the constitution because it allowed slavery, and this man reresented a minority in his time, but eventually, with his impact, the abolitionists group grew and Garrison was one of the primary men who started it.

    Kansas-Nebraska Act
    The Kansa-Nebraska Act represented one of the most important events that led to the civil war, for Senator Stephen Douglas wanted to gain Southern support, so he proposed that Kansas would become a slave state. This would violate the Missouri Compromise and the Norht was angry. Nonetheless, the act was passed and Kansas was open to popular sovereignty and the right to support slavery.

    This group was the first organized and significant group to actually stand up for African American's rights, which is an important step in AMerican History because they led the equality for blacks. This speicifc bill was important because this was one of the first bills proposed, advocating for equality for all men.
