The decision to get involved started in February and March when German submarines targetted United States ships. Most of the reason that we did not get involved until December was because President Wilson needed to get permission from Congress in order to send troops.

Escapism is the act of refocusing attention on fun and enjoyable things rather than think about something sad. This involved everything from shopping to drugs. Some examples of modern escapism are television, video games, and books. Everyone in the 1920's wanted to enjoy themselves after the terrible war that had just occured.

He was very popular because he created the New Deal. That expanded the powers of the federal government and helped get America out of the Great Depression. He also followed President Hoover who was not very popular amoung American's by the end of his term.

This event was known as Brown vs. Board of Education. It led to the Little Rock Nine and many more protests from African Americans who fought for their rights.

Things escalated until the world was on the brink of a nuclear war. On Ocober 27th, Krushchev secretly offered to take the missiles out of Cuba if the United States would take the forces away that they had positioned in Turkey. Kennedy agreed and all the forces were taken away.

    The signing of the INF was very important. The Cold War had the potential to end very, very badly. We could have been in a nuclear war that killed millions of people. Not only did the INF mark the end of the Cold War, but it also called for the destruction of a range of nuclear weapons which could have destroyed and demolished whole cities had they been used in war.

    President Reagan and President Clinton both had a lot of tough decisions to make in their terms as president. They chose to do what had not been done before and sometimes that was not exactly favored by the public. For example, Reagan reduced the involvement of the government in peoples lives and Clinton supported homosexuality involvement in the military. They stood up for what they believed in which took courage.
