    This is a rough approximation of the time when people began to form Unions. Working conditions were dangerous and unfair, and this was the time when people finally began to act on fixing that. There is no fixed period of time when unions began to form, but it was sometime between 1885-1900.

    The U.S. officially annexed Hawaii in 1898. At this time, Hawaii was run by a monarch, Queen Lili'uokalani. The U.S. took over the Kingdom by force.

    Henry Ford began to sell cars in 1903. This produced a massive change in American culture. It has been just over 100 years since then, and life without automobiles is unimaginable.

    The United States was involved in WWII from December 1st, 1942 (Pearl Harbor bombings) to September 2nd, 1945 (Japanese surrender.) Over 400,000 American soldiers died during the war, and over 12 million Russian Jews. It was a very dark time in history.

    On December 7th, 1941, the Hawaiin territory Pearl Harbor was bombed by Japan. Over 2000 people were killed. This bombing lead to the United States' role in World War II.

    Rosa Parks refused to move to the back of the bus on December 1, 1955. This lead to her arrest, which sparked a vital part of the Civil Rights movement. The Civil Rights movement lead to the U.S. taking steps towards mending a very broken country based on a system of oppression.
