    The Revolutionary War began as a war between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the Thirteen Colonies, but gradually grew into a world war between Britain and the newely formed United States, France, Netherlands, Spain, and Mysore. The main result was an American victory and European recognition of the indepedence of the United States, and mixed results for the other powers.

    Thomas Jefferson submitted the Declaration of Independence to the Continental Congress. Two days of editing, on July 4, 1776, Continental Congress gatered the Idependence Hall to witness the signing of the document.

    The dafting and ratifying the United States Contitution took nearly four years. The process for ratification in each state was approximately the same: the state legislature called a state ratifying convetion to decide wheter or not that state would ratify the proposed Constitution. Delegates were elected to the ratifying convention, and ultimatey each state ratified the Constitution.

    The Louisiana Purchase during 1802 when the Louisiana Territory was being traded over to France Spain closed down New Orleans to the American Shipping. This got people angry so Jefferson offer to buy New Orleans. France then said if he wanted to buy all of the Louisiana Territory. So in 1803 the purchase was approced. This was important because it expanded the Unted States and stared the Lewis and Clark journey.

Soon Turner's rebellion had spread fear in the South.

    The atomic boming of the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in Japan were conducted by the United States during the final stages of World War 2. The war in Europe ended when Nazi Germany signed its instrument of surrender on May 8, but the Pacific War continued. Together with the United Kingdom and the Republic of China, the United States called for a surrender to Japan in the Potsdam Declaration on July 26, 1945.

But Challenger's launch had already been delayed several times until January 26, then a mechanical problem and increasing crosswinds pushed the launch date back again on January 28, finally at 11:38 A.M. when space shuttle lifted off, the Challenger exploded.
