John Lockes Influence of the Declaration of Independence
John Locke influenced the idea of the Declaration with the idea of unalienable rights. This is important because without John Lockes idea, the declaration could have been much different with not as many rights. -

The Second Continental Congress elected George Washington as commander in chief of the new continental army. This is important because George Washingtons skill and leadership helped us win the war. -

Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence that declared independence of America from England. This is important because America stated the freedom and rights they wanted while they fought for their independence. -
The Battle of Saratoga
The battle of Saratoga was a victory for America and brought French’s alliance into the war. This is important because America was struggling in the war and the French’s alliance helped us greatly in getting our independence. -

This was the last battle of the American revolution where America forced Britain to surrender. This is important because this victory gave America the freedom they wanted. -

This document explained the structure and rules of the government. This is important because it helped America keep a structural government that still works today, and still allow freedom for the people. -
The Bill of Rights
The bill of rights are 10 rules that were not covered in the US constitution. This is important because without these rules we would be more limited in individual rights, and the citizens would not be as supportive with the US constitution. -
The Industrial Revolution
The industrial revolution started factories and manufacturing. This is important because products soared and new inventions were created. -
Emancipation Proclamation
The Emancipation Proclamation freed slaves from the confederate states. This is important because it changed the purpose of the war to ending slavery. -
Battle of Gettysburg
This is the bloodiest battle of the civil war. This is important because it ended the souths chance of winning the war. -
Civil War
The Civil War was the war between North + South America. It was important because it helped put a stop to slave labor and gave more freedoms to every man in America. -
13th Amendment
The 13th amendment abolishes slavery. This is important because it gives the slaves the right to freedom.
