The foreigers coming to Hawaii had a great effect on the islanders health, diseases where brought to Hawaii.

    The arrival of the first missonarionaries
    On October 1819 the first group of missionaries got on board a ship to sail to the Hawaiian Islands. The seventeen members of the group were led by 2 ministers, named Reverend Hiram and the Reverend Asa Thurston. The missionaries built houses, schools and churches, the missionaries wanted to learn the Hawaiian language. The missionaries wanted to learn Hawaiian because they wanted to teach the Hawaiians to read the bible, The missionaries wanted to lead the Hawaiians away from their old religion

    On November 1 1819 Liholiho and ka'ahumanu have ended kapu. Finally the kapu has ended but some people are very upset seeing the images and idols of the gods being destroyed. Even some chiefs were upset, Liholiho and ka'ahumanu heard rumors that an revolt was happeing. Liholiho and ka'ahamanu hoped that they would not have to deal for a revolt, but the revolt happened. Liholiho went to Oah'u to grab 900 muskets and brave warriors fought. Liholiho and ka'ahumanu have won Kapu is over.
