    It was an instant messaging platform created by Microsoft. MSN Messenger was Microsoft’s response to the dominance in instant messaging that AIM had at that time. With the popularity of smartphones and newer social media MSN had to shut down in late 2014.

The site is used to keep in touch with friends, “meet” and become friends with new people, or find potential romantic partners. Although Myspace is still around today, it is not as popular as it used to be and has changed so much.

Facebook is now for people to make profiles, to connect with friends, work colleagues or people they don't know, online. And to share pictures, music, videos, and articles, as well as their own thoughts and opinions.
