Kassidy's timeline

  • Trust VS. Mistrust

    Trust VS. Mistrust
At age 6 months old Kassidy could not do anything on her own. She depended on her mother to take care of her everyday needs. I her mother made sure she was fed, changed, and warm which in return made her (trust) that her needs will be met. If I didn't take care of her and let her go hungry, unchanged, and cold then she would not trust and than learn (mistrust).
  • Autonomy VS. Shame/Doubt

    Autonomy VS. Shame/Doubt
At age 2 I taught Kassidy how to bake cookies. We got all the ingredients together and I let her put everything in a bowl and mix the cookies up. This in return made her feel responsible and independent (Autonomy). It made her so happy that she could do it all by herself. Even though she made a huge mess and there was egg shells in the cookies, I didn't let her feel like she was doing it wrong because that would have made her feel (Shame/Doubt) in her ability to do it on her own.
  • Industry VS. Inferiority

    Industry VS. Inferiority
Kassidy at age 6 wanted to play hockey. She quickly moved up and started to play with the 8 and 9 year old. At first I didn't want her moving up because I thought that she would not be as good as the older kids and this would kill her confidants making her feel (Inferiority). I didn't want to hold her back, But this actually made her work harder and made her proud of her accomplishments (industry)
