    This was the major war that led to many of the Native American troubles in life. This was a war that the Native Americans helped the British fight in as well. Them supporting the British made the US not really like the Indians.

    Indiana is a state!
    This date was the day that the territory of Indiana became a state in the United States. Even though the state had Native Americans in the state they didn't force them out! This led to the Native American Trail of Death.
  • Indian Removal Act

    This was the act that said the Native Americans in Indiana and many other states had to leave the state and they will be moved out. This had the Trail of Tears and Trail of death affect in the country. In the Northern part of America it was called the Trail of Death and in the Southern part it was the Trail of Tears.

    Potawatomi signed nine treaties
    This date showed when the Potawatomi signed nine treaties with the United states or Indiana. They probably did this that way they had a certain date they had to be kicked out of Indiana. Their were other treaties that had different uses and purposes like how they will stay in the US reservation.

    August 5,1838 was the last day on the a Treaty for the tribe to leave Indiana. They signed a treaty to allow them to get ready and this was the date that they had chose or be given to leave. On this day as well the Native Americans started their journey to their new home.

    The Exodus to Kansas from Indiana is now known as the Trail of Death. This is like the Trail of Tears, but in the Northern part of America. This was a tragic time in Native American history because the Potawatomi are moved out of Indiana and forced to a new place to call home.

    On this date is when the Potawatomi Indians cross the Mississippi River on steamboats. This is also the day they got into Missouri. They might have had to take multiple trips with the boats since their were many Native Americans having to travel with cattle and supplies.

    This is the day that the Potawatomi Indians are brought to their land they shall now live on. Their new land was in Kansas and they have to start over. In Kansas this is new for them and they got their in the Winter so it would be hard to have food.
