    Growing Up

Growing up in the San Mateo area, Tom Brady’s favorite player and role model was Joe Montana. Joe Montana was a hall of fame quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers, winning multiple championships and setting multiple records. Brady was also in an athletic family, with two older sisters who typically stole the spotlight when it came to sports. His sisters and Montana motivated Tom to be great in sports and to work as hard as he could.

    High School Career

Although physically Brady wasn’t the most qualified, he was a standout in high school. During his 4-year span at Junipero Serra High School, he threw for 3,514 yards and 33 touchdowns. However, Brady failed to reach the playoffs in any of his years, with a combined 11-9 record as a starter. (https://youtu.be/wAHzEIARVPM)

    College Career

Brady chose to play in Ann Harbor rather than Cali, even though he wasn’t guaranteed the starting spot. During his freshman year, Tom was a 6th string quarterback. Coaches knew he had the ability, but didn’t have the experience just yet. However, during his junior and senior year, Tom earned the starting spot. He had a combined record of 20-5 as a starter (10-3 as a junior and 10-2 as a senior). (https://youtu.be/fZzk1BPeQJI)
  • NFL Draft

    NFL Draft
It took 6 rounds before Brady’s name was finally called. At the 199th pick, the New England Patriots selected Tom Brady. This pick might’ve just seemed like a relief selection, but little did New England know this would be their best decision in franchise history. Being picked 199/254 really motivates people. It proves that if you work hard enough, greatness will surely follow.

    Introduction to the Patriots
Brady didn’t start, of course, he was behind 8-year veteran Drew Bledsoe. During Tom’s second year on the Patriots, Bledsoe got hurt, which means he had to step up and take control of the team. Shockingly, Brady had a winning season and brought the Patriots to the Super Bowl. Even more surprisingly, he won. As a 14-point underdog, Brady won against the St. Louis Rams and brought New England their first Lombardi Trophy. He also took home the MVP.

    Cash Out

Some great runs from teams such as the Colts, Steelers, and Giants kept Tom and the Patriots out of the Super Bowl for 10 years. In 2015, Tom made his 6th Super Bowl appearance against the Seattle Seahawks and won the championship and the MVP once again. He won two other championships 2017 (another MVP) and 2019, but didn’t make it in 2016 and lost in 2018.

    Old Man
Just 12 days ago, Brady won his 7th Super Bowl and 5th MVP, indefinitely securing his greatness as one of the greatest players of all time. An even more impressive stat, he now holds the record for the oldest player to ever play and win in a Super Bowl (43). During an interview, Tom said he wasn’t done just yet and says he’s open to playing past age 45.
