    In 1914 a British Commanders named Ernest Swinton and William Hankey, secretary of the Committee for Imperial Defence promoted the idea armored vehicle with conveyor-belt-like tracks over its wheels They imagined the vehicle traveling across any terrain and go in the enemy territory protected. it was referred to as a "land boat"

    Canadians first went to war with 4 Colt machine guns. The Colt machine gun did its job but it was immobile and often jammed after rapid fire shots. Soon after it was replaced by the Lewis Light machine gun. It was a reliable machine gun that did not weigh a lot and could be carried around. This helped advance some of canada's war tactics and help them a lot on offence.

    1916, The vehicle was ready for battle. The tank's first battle was the battle of Somme on September 15 of 1916. The first shipment of tanks was hot, noisy and unwieldy and suffered mechanical malfunctions on the battlefield. But people started realizing its potential. Three years later the new tank "Mark 5" was a much better success capturing 8000 thousand enemy troops and 100 guns

    first created by Reginald Fessenden,, XWA was granted the first broadcast licence on this day December 1st 1919. as time went on the radio station grew more and more in popularity but the station was also switching owners a lot. Canadians were ecstatic because they now have some form of entertainment.

    1921 was the year that insulin was made.Dr. Frederick G. Banting was the first person to figure the formula out for insulin. he isolated the secretions from the islet cells and tout them as a potential treatment for diabetes because of this he made peoples lives with diabetes much more manageable

    Arthur Sicard a Canadian inventor was trying to make a machine that helped people get snow of there fields in an easy and quick way. It took him 31 years to create this machine and finally he showed it in Montreal. The first snowblower was a very different machine, it was pretty much a truck with a scooper and a snow throwing chute. It could throw the snow up to 90 feet or just store it in the back of the truck.

    the flourcent lamp was invented the same year as the televisons. some can say it was a coinsedence but now you can make a whole new room all bright with a nice tv beside it. although there was lamps at the time this lamp wasint like any other, this lamp was brighter than ever, its so bright that it is still used to this day.

    The telephone was invented by Alexander gram but it wasn't until 1929 when they started becoming faster and much more reliable. Canadians were very grateful that they can now make long distance calls
