The Concept that made Kuhn's Name
The concept of the Paradigm Shift states that there are phases of for an evolution of an idea, concept, etc. The different phases include pre-science/normal science, a model drift, crisis, and revolution.
  • Pre-Science/Normal Science

Pre-Science is the phase that hosts series of debates and unorganized activity. For example, a scientists of philosopher might of introduced a new concept or theory and the crowd that opposes his or her ideas is who initiates this phase of the Paradigm Shift.
  • Crisis

Within the "crisis" phase, new theories are sliding into place and there tends to be a lot of competition. Once the crisis phase is resolved, that is when new concepts arise and the cycle gets close to repeating itself.
  • Revolution

A new justification surfaces when the "revolution" phase occurs. This is typically where that initial concept that was found under "normal science" is explained in a better, more understanding fashion.
