One of the main themes is portrayed through Aslan and the White Witch: the theme of good vs. evil. From the first time the children enter Narnia together, Edmund wonders how they can decide whom to trust. It becomes clear that the White Witch is evil through her actions of turning others into stone, trying to control others, and even kidnapping Edmund through a deceitful promise of Turkish Delight. The White Witch has taken control of Narnia.
