  • Herbert Hoover wins the presidential election of 1928. He had previously spent eight years as a secretary of commerce in the Harding and Coolidge administrations.

  • Germany and japan sign the Anti-Comintern Pact. This is an agreement to exchange information about Communist groups.

  • Italy joins the Anti-Commintern Pact. All three countries depsise communistic government.

  • Spain joins the Anti-Comintern Pact. Spain too is led by a dictator who despises communism- Francisco Franco.

  • Goebbels organizes Krystallnacht. Krystallnacht is German for Crystal Night- signifies a night which much glasss was shattered during the bombarding of several jewish family homes.

  • Stalin and Hitler sign the Nazi-Soviet Pact. Russia is now at the aid of Germany.

  • Germany invades Poland. In the midst of the invasion they annex Danzig.

  • Germany breaks through France's Maginot Line. France is attacked.

  • Petain begins to negotiate armisticee with germnay. Hitler uses him to set up a "puppet government".

  • America defeats Europe. Day becomes known as V-E Day for victory in Europe.
