    The Reichstag Fire
    The Reichstag Fire was an attack on the Reichstag building, which is basically the German Parliament. It was rumored for a communist to do this because someone saw a communist near the Reichstag building during the fire. This event happened after Hitler was sworn in as chancellor.

    Complete Power
    After Hitler became chancellor of Germany, he addressed his first session. His first order of business was to give himself complete control of Germany because he was scared that the communists will take over German, Thus the enabling act was born. This let Hitler act without the consent of the Reichstag, the German parliament.

    On March 1933, the first concentration camp was set up and opened up in Dachau. Although Communists, not Jews, were not sent there, The place would be used for Jews later on. 27,000 people were rounded up there but not killed.

    The people very supportive of "Aryanization" who wanted for more people to be supportive of their opinions began Rallies for the Nazi-Fascist Party. One example was the public book burning of books made by Jews, Communists, and other people the "Aryans" did not like.

    The Jews are stripped of their rights and ability to be a citizen in Germany. They lose multiple simple rights each month. The Americans would call these rights "Unalienable" meaning rights given to you because you are a human being.
  • Hitler becomes Fuhrer

    Hitler becomes Fuhrer
    Hitler was accounted Chancellor by the same man that let him become Fuhrer. Paul Von Hindenburg had appointed Hitler Chancellor, and now died, leaving the man with the plan for a mass killing in charge of a country filled with willing people.

    The Nuremberg Laws were laws that said that anyone with 3 or 4 Jewish Grandparents. The laws also stated that if you have 2 Grandparents that are Jewish, you are "Half-Breed" or mischling.

    The Olympic Games were held in Germany which meant Visitors and Foreigners. Hitler and The Nazi Party put a 3-week pause on the anti-jewish procedures so Germany can look favorable to the visitors.
  • Kristallnacht

    Kristallnacht
    Kristallnacht, or The Night of Broken Glass, signifies the night Jews were killed and many more arrested. This was also the night Jewish shops were thrown stones at and German Synagogues, or the holy place where Jews practice their religion were burned down. Many tried to leave after this horrific event.
  • The St.Louis

    The St.Louis
    A ship named the St. Louis, after the city, carried a group of around 940 passengers containing those fleeing from Germany and Hitler's concentration camps. The ship was turned away by Cuba, The U.S., and a few other countries. The ship turned right back to Europe and the refugees were split up by Great Britain, France, Belgium, and The Netherlands. Those that were accepted by France, Belgium, and The Netherlands died as a part of Hitler's plans for Jews. Only 300 out of the thousand lived.

    The Final Solution was Germany's last blow at the Jewish Population. Seeing as the war was going against their favor, Hitler and the many SS Guards decided to kill the Jews at an accelerated rate. Gas chambers became a regular and bullets were used more towards soldiers than Jews. Mass Graves became a requirement and places like Auswitz was used more.

    The Jews faced what seems impossible. Jews and humans, in general, faced very bad situations but nothing had ever been done on this scale. Thus, the U.S. Army and the Soviet Army came in and liberated the remaining Jews from the concentration camps. The Soviet Union found the first Major Camps such as Majdanek.

    The Liberation of Auschwitz
    With 2 million people killed, Auschwitz was finally Liberated.
    Auschwitz is known to have killed the most amount of Jews among the Nazi Concentration and death camps. Crematories half destroyed as The Germans decided to destroy the last pieces of evidence. Large piles of belongings could be found along with mass graves.
  • The Death of a Nazi

    The Death of a Nazi
    Hitler, known for leading the Nazi Party and the sheer number of people he had killed, Committed Suicide on April 30, 1945. Although this did not signify the end of the Nazi Party, this was definitely a rough time for them. The Nazi Party ended shortly after Hitler's death with several of the S.S. Guards and others on trial for war crime and other horrible crimes. Although The Nazi Party was disbanded, this does not signify an end to Nazism nor Anti-Semitism.
