  • Montgolfier Brothers- first hot-air balloon

    On April 4, 1783, the montgolfier brothers, Joseph and Jacques, devised a hot air balloon. they gave their first public demonstration in their hometown of Annonay.
  • Star Of The East

    The Star Of The East is a hot air balloon created by Mr.Lauriet of New Brunswick, Canada. At 5:00 am on August 10, 1840, Mr.Lauriet cut the ropes tying his baloon to the ground. Off he went, with a blanket, a basket of food, writing materials, and a bullhorn. This was the first recorded Canadian flight.
  • Otto Lilienthal, first hang-glider

    Otto Lilienthal was a german engineer, and in 1891, constructed the first known hang-glider. he named it the Derwitzer Glider. It isn't certain what exact date he created the glider.

    In December of 1903, the wright brothers flew the world's first powered airplane. they made a flight of 12 seconds over kitty hawk beach, starting on Kill Devil Hill in North Carolina.

  • Gossamer Condor

    In the year of 1977, Bryan Allen pedaled his Gossamer Condor at a top speed of 10 miles an hour. The Condor was made of aluminum and cardboard tubing, covered with plastic. It weighed 72 lb, and had a wingspan of 95 feet.
  • Dr.Marc Garneau

    Dr.Marc garneau was the fierst Canadian astronaut in space. Along with 6 other astronauts, he boarded the Space shuttle Challenger in 1984. Dr.Marc Garneau served as a spacecraft communicator in the mission control room.
  • Roberta Bondar

    Roberta Bondar was one of the most famous woman Canadian astronaut. On January 22, 1992, she and six other crew members boarded the shuttle Discovery.
  • space pod

    the space pod attaches to the space shuttle during takeoff, the n detaches and is under its own control. It uses boosters to glide through space. the pod is smaller than a shuttle, but has wings like the shuttle, only smaller, to help direction.
  • Jetpack

    The Jetpack is a backpacklike contraption with jets coming out the bottom. There are joysticks out of the sides to control the jetpack. It comes with a bodysuit and a helmet to stop you from being burned, and has two straps for you to put your arms through.
  • The Hoverboard

    The hoverboard is made of thin sheets of steel covered in plastic. the baord hovers slightly above the ground, using the rider's body to steer. The hoverboard also has jets underneath that turn on with the push of a button. this is what propels the board forwards and moves it along.
