    After Romans leave Britain a lot of Germanic Tribes started to get there. Tribes such as Angles and Saxons. Anglo-saxon took simple words for common things.

    The Norman Conquest

    William the Conqueror invades England and took with him words from French.
  • 1550

    English and Empire

    English have a words of every single place, such as Caribbean, Australia and India. English was being developed all over the world.
  • American Englsh

    America took the language of capitalism. Then the needed of name the new things in a big society make them create the words that we know today such as: diapers or dental care.
  • The King James Bible

    The Labour of Love was the new translation of the bible. This book was important because it changed the way that English is spoken currently.
  • Shakespeare

    2000 thousands words were invented by this man. He showed that English was a rich and vibrant language with no limits to express what we think.
  • The English of Science

    The Royal Society was formed by Robert Boyle, Robert Hook and Isaac Newton. At first they worked in latin, and then they find out that transfroming some words people could get the iformation much easier. Finally, they care about human body and took new words that helped in sex education.

    The first dictionary took nine years to write and help to know meaning of a word without spell it. In 1857 the Oxford English Dictionay was created. It took 70 year to be finished.

    English is a peculiar language that can evolve by itself. The internet make the English go across much more language and currently made the English be what is today.

    The internet change the whole speaking English because the conversations needed to be shorter. It took a lot of abreveations such as LOL and BTW, and we are still using them.
