The First Fleet Arrives

https://kids.kiddle.co/First_Fleet Governor Arthur Phillip landed with the first 11 ships of the first fleet. He immediately claimed the land for England.

First Catholic Mass

Mar 15, 1803

The first Mass was said by Fr James Dixon. This Mass was said in an ex-convicts old home in Sydney.

First catholic church is built

1821

In 1821 the catholic church society grew so much that the first catholic church was built in Tasmania.

Caroline Chisolm

1838

Mary mackillop

1842

Mary was born in the 15th of January 1842. She later became Australia's first catholic saint. Mary then died in 1809 the 8th of August.

Catholic Mission for Aborigines

1843

Bishop Polding created a catholic mission towards aboriginals in Queensland.

Catholic Faith

1900

In the late 1800's to the early 1900's many more catholic churches were established and the catholic faith grew in size.
