  • The Octagon Television

    This was the first mechanical television made by General Electric to be demonstrated in public. The TV was powered by rapidly spinning wheels. They made the TV as an experiment and was meant to air the first TV drama, The Queen's messenger. It had a 3-inch screen. Insights:
    We think that it's really hard to watch this kind of television simply because of its shape.
  • Emyvisor (French TV)

    Emyvisor (French TV)
    This television increases the image by adding a magnifying lens to make it 8 inches, and it plays at 25 frames per second. But this television featured a "vision only" station, which meant a separate radio had to be purchased. Only ten of these sets were made. Insights: Nevertheless, this television had a "visual only" station, necessitating the purchase of a separate radio. The Emyvisor was in black and white.

    RCA announced the 630-TS in October, 1946, at a price of $350, along with the seven inch model 621TS. In November both sets were advertised for sale in five cities.     The Japanese developed the first HDTVs, but weren't common until later on. Insights: We learned that it is a television display technology that provides picture quality similar to 35 mm. movies with sound quality similar to that of today's compact disc. Some television stations have begun transmitting HDTV broadcasts to users on a limited number of channel. And we also learned that the HDTV's were created by the Japanese people.
  • Sony FD Trinitron WEGA

    Sony FD Trinitron WEGA
    This flat-screen television is the first to have a built-in VCR and DVD player. It had many more channels and he screen size was largely increased and improved. Insights: We also learned that this TV has so many advantages. The advantages of this TV in comparison to early shadow mask designs, the Trinitron grille cuts off much less of the signal coming from the electron guns. RCA tubes built in the 1950s cut off about 85% of the electron beam, while the grille cuts off about 25%.

  • Curved TV's

    Introduced by Samsung and LG. The curved screen is supposed the give the perfect viewing angle at any spot. It's over a hundred times faster than LED TVs, and has incredibly consistent contrast and doesn't distort colors. It also includes a new smart remote with gesture and voice control. Basically, the curved TV is supposed to be better in every way.
