    Smallpox is a deadly disease that occurs because of variola virus. Again the first time this disease has been recorded was in 1157 B.C by the Egyptian Pharaoh Ramses V, thousands of years ago. Currently there are no signs of Smallpox around.

Morton is the inventor or creator of anesthesia, it really does help patients and without it, it would have been WAY more difficult to do surgeries.

    The Tuskegee Syphilis Study was about about untreated African American Men who had the disease known as ¨Syphilis.¨ It was an experiment to observe about this disease that is found in sexual activity and can be found in both men and woman. But this study was about men. This was a TERRIBLE study because back in the day most doctors suggested using penicillin as a cure but instead they left these innocent men untreated and just gave them placebos.

And many have died in 1950, about 32,00 children have been afflicted by this virus. And another outbreak occurred in 1952. 58,00 Children had been infected but 1,400 had been killed. Though the first outbreak of polio happened in 1894. This is a very deadly infectious disease.

(Cited from wikipedia) In summary it means that when other options have failed to treat someones heart they have to get another and have it surgically put into someone. And Dr.Barnard was the first to successfully accomplish this task.

Synthetic Blood helps this by working like an artificial limb kind of. Patients are given small amounts of Synthetic Blood and the goals is to reproduce healthy red blood cells.
