o First full length Indian silent feature film: Raja Harishchandra by Dadasaheb Phalke; Nala Dayamanti film was released
o Storytelling was depicted via captions in Hindi and English
o Scenes transition were demarcated in phases as the story progresses
o The actors had to be more talented to express only via actions and no sounds/words while the audience had to focus more to follow through the story -
1937 - Color Film
o First color film was released: Kisan Kanya by Ardeshir Irani of Imperial pictures
o These films were made with help of overseas companies such as in Germany and international co-productions
o The film "Sairandhri" was the first color film to be completely made in India
