    This is the first day of the Cuban Missile Crisis. Pictures are taken of missiles in Cuba and taken back to the U.S.Kennedy meets with his team and they discuss ways to solve the issue.

    Day 2
    The first missile site is found in Cuba.
  • Day 3

    Day 3
    President Kennedy meets with the Foreign Minister of the Soviet Union. Kennedy talks about Cuba, but hides the knowledge of the missiles. Also, a hydrogen bomb is tested in the United States.

    Day 4
    Options for the military are debated and discussed.
  • Day 5

    Day 5
    Pesident Kennedy returns ro Washington. He plans to tell the American people that they are planning to deploy naval units.
  • Day 6

    Day 6
    JFK meets with General Walter Sweeny from the Tactical Air Command. Sweeny tells the President that an air strike couldn't completely destroy the missiles.
  • Day 7

    Day 7
    President Kennedy tells of the missile crisis to many including past presidents and the Prime Minister of Great Britain via telephone. He then establishes the Executive Commitee of National Security council, and directs them to meet daily during the missile crisis.

    Day 8
    Ambassador of the U.N. tells the matter to the U.N. Security Council. The ships of the naval quarantine move into place surrounding Cuba. Soviet submarines threaten them by moving into the Caribbean sea. Soviet ships with military supplies are stopped. Later, Robert Kennedy meets with Ambassador Dobrynin at the Soviet Embassy.

    Khrushchev replied to President Kennedy's October 23 letter in a harsh manner.
  • Day 10

    Day 10
    Since missiles in Cuba were now operational, JFK drafts a letter to Khrushchev urging him to change the upcoming events. Soviet ships turn back and return to Europe. U.N. Secretary General calls for a cooling off period. Kennedy rejects because the missiles would be left in place.

    Day 11
    A soviet ship is allowed access in Cuba. Photographs prove construction sites for missiles and bombs in Cuba. In a letter, Castro encourages Khrushchev to take a strike at the U.S. A etter from Khrushchev to Kennedy makes an offer: removal of the missiles in exchange for lifting the quarantine and a pledge that the U.S. will not invade Cuba
  • Day 12

    Day 12
    A letter from the Soviet Union demanding the removal of obsolete Jupiter missiles from Turkey, is received in Washington. Over Cuba, the pilot, Major Rudolph Anderson, is killed because An American U-2 plane is shot down. President Kennedy awards him the Distinguished Service Medal.

    Day 13
    The thirteen days are finally over. The Soviet Union accepted the proposed solution. A letter is released from Khrushchev comfirming that the missiles will be removed as long as the U.S. doesn't invade Cuba.
