    The Conference was to make peace in Germany. The conference was located in Yalta, Ukraine. The people, "The Big Three", at the conference were US President Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Soviet Premier Joseph Stalin, and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill.
    Another purpose of this conference was to make another peace organization as the United Nations have failed during WW2.

The 2 countries that were involved were the Soviet Union and the US. The race ended by US landing on the moon, but the Soviet Union started it when the launched a satellite, Sputnik, into orbit.

    On January 1, 1959, a Cuban nationalist, Fidel Castro, drove his army into Havana and overthrew General Fulgencio Batista. In the next years after the CIA planned to strike Fidel. In April 1961 the CIA launched a definitive strike. This strike didn't go as planned as the soldiers surrendered after 24 hours of fighting. This invasion took place in Cuba.

    The Cuban Missile Crisis was a 13-day stressful time where the Soviet missiles were installed on Cuba. Fidel Castro threatened to bomb the US, but JFK took it easy and got his way and his country out of the situation. He also surrounded Cuba in naval security and promised to protect the US at all cost.

    Detente and the Helsinki Agreement
    The act was supposed to bring peace between the Soviet Union and the US. In July 1975, however, the Soviet Union and the United States tried to freshen the policy of detente by calling the CSCE in Helsinki.

    When the wall was announced to be destroyed, people rejoiced for the first time in forever. In all 171 people were killed trying to get over, under or around the Berlin Wall. The Berlin separated Berlin in half for ages. It was broken down because East Berlin's communist party announced a change in the city's relationship with the west.
