The Atomic Theory

  • John Dalton

    John Dalton
John Dalton a bristish chemist developed a theory that matter is simply composed of atoms of different weights and is combined in ratios by weight. Also proposed that these atoms are spherical.
  • Cathcode Ray Tube

    Cathcode Ray Tube
Sir William Crookes contrcuted a primitive cathcode ray tube, which later became the basis of television. It was a vacuum tube containing one or more electron guns and a fluorescent screen to view images
  • X Rays , William Rogten

    X Rays , William Rogten
Willaim Rogten discovered that certain chemicals glowed when exposed to cathcode rays. These rays weren't deflected by a magnetic field produced in a cathcode ray tube. He named it X-Rays
  • Radiation, Energy and the Atome 1898

Radiation, Energy and the Atome 1898
Peire and Marie curie theorized that radioactive particles cause atoms to break down, then releasing radiation that takes the form of energy and subtomic particles
  • The quantum theory

    The quantum theory
Max Planc introduced what would be known as the quantum theory. Stating that electromagnetic energy could only be emitted quantized form. his quantum is now known as photons
  • Einstein

    Einstein
Albert Einstein created a special and genral theories of relativity and hypothesizes about the nature of light. This was the basis of nuclear energy

    Ernest Rutherford

Ernest rutherford developed the theory for the strcture of an atom. He used a gold foil experiment observing the scattering of alpha particles, and demonstrated for the first time the existence of the atomic nucleus. He established that the nucleus was: very dense, very small and positively charged. He also assumed that the electrons were located outside the nucleus.

  • Erwin Scrodinger

    Erwin Scrodinger
Erwin Scrodinger described how elctrons moved in wave form and developed the scrodinger equation which describes how the quantum state of a system changes with time
  • James Chadwick

    James Chadwick
James Chadwick discovers the neutron component of the atomic nucleus. This made it possible to produce elements heavier that uranium in the lab and was an extrememly big step in progession of phyics.
