    33 men get trapped over 2000 feet under ground when part of the San Jose mine in Chile caves in.
  • Rescuers Setback

    Rescuers face a setback when another cave in blocks the path they were using to reach the miners.
  • A Sign

    A Sign
    A drill bores a hole into the refuge the miners are in, they tie a note to the drill. When it reaches the surface the note says that all 33 of them are alive and fine down there
  • Food & Water

    Food & Water
    They are able to send down food, water, and other supplies to the miners using a tube they put down the hole they made previously. Before this the miners were living off of very little tuna and water eating every 48 hours.
  • Seeing Family

    For the first time since the accident the miners are able to talk to family and loved ones directly over video chat for about 20.
  • Plan B Drill

    Drill B, the second of 3 drills running to help rescue the miners, reaches where the miner are. It has to make the hole bigger so they need to make a second pass.
  • The Capsule

    The Capsule
    A rescue capsule is being made specifically to get the miners out of there, it's big enough to fit one person and is to pull them out the hole being made by Drill B
  • Good News

    Officials say they're expecting to get the miners out sometime October 15-30, they first estimated November or December before the drilling started.
  • Almost Free

    The Plan B drill breaks through again making the hole big enough to fit the capsule through, but some more safety measures are to be made before they can rescue them.
  • Rescued at Last

    Rescued at Last
    After 69 long days since the mine collapse, all of the miners are finally rescued and pulled out of the mine. The rescue process took 20 1/2 hours to get them all out.
