Fredonian Republic
Hayden Edwards made old settlers pay fees for the land they had already bought. This made them mad, and so the Mexican government revoked his contract. He declared the Republic of Fredonia short-lived. This started Mexican concern about Anglo-Americans -
Mier y Teran Report
In 1827, the Mexican government sent General Manuel de Mier y Terán to investigate the situation. He warned that unless the Mexican government took timely measures, settlers were certain to rebel. Many colonists hoped that he would make Texas a self-governing state within the Mexican republic. -
Decree of April 6th,1830
The Mexican government passed on new laws. These included: no immigration from the U.S., canceled all unfullfilled empresario grants, encouraged Mexican and european immigration, etc. -
Turtle Bayou Resolutions
The Americans retreated from Anahuac to the Turtle Bayou. whilst in the Turtle Bayou, they found out that Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna was leading a revolution against the current Mexican government. -

Texans supported Santa Anna because they believed he would support the constitution of 1824 -

The battle of Anahuac started because Texas settlers didn´t like the new laws of 1830. The battle was located at a garrison in Anahuac.
