  • The most successful supercomputer in history

The most successful supercomputer in history
Cray-1 was the first supercomputer of the 70s to reach the 80MHz of power, becoming also one of the most powerful machines of the decade. Its structure became it, the most successful machine ever.
  • A limited number of processors...

    A limited number of processors...
althought supercomputer didn´t use a large amount of processors, their peak performance was increadibly exceptional for the decade.
  • CRAY Y-MP

    CRAY Y-MP
The most powerful supercomputer of 80s. it had a peak performance of 333 Megaflops per processor. Being the only one that could have 8 vector processors. A hit for the decade.
  • An exponential number

    An exponential number
Thoughout the 90s, the number of processors within the supercomputers started increasing. Machines with thousands of processors began to appear both in the United States and in Japan.

  • The most, the better.

    The most, the better.
The IBM Blue Gene, became the most powerful supercomputer for almost a decade (2000). was the first machine that used a very large amount of racks and processors. The Blue Gene can use over 60K processors. This number has increased along the years.

  • The Greatest

    The Greatest
The greatest peak performance ever registered was executed by the IBM Summit, having a peek speed 122.3 Teraflops. Being the most powerful standart supercomputer ever.
  • Quantum Supercomputer

    Quantum Supercomputer
The Google quantum supercomputer. It is the only acknowledged quantum machine that actually overpass the power of standart supercomputers. The machine performed in 200 seconds a complex problem, that is performed by the most powerful supercomputers in the world in more than 10K years.
